2025 Mock Draft 1.0 * Pre Combine * by Fred Schell of Freddy & the Jets

It's my favorite time of year once again, mock draft season! With a lot of player evaluation left to go, this is just our first of several mock drafts we'll be doing here at FreddyJets.com. Here is the full round 1 Mock 1.0. We've got 2 trades in this one.

  1. TRADE - New York Giants - Cam Ward, QB Miami. I don't see it mocked super frequently, but I feel like the Giants are the most likely team to trade up for the toolsy Ward. Brian Daboll tries to do it again post Josh Allen

  2. Cleveland Browns - Abdul Carter, EDGE Penn State. The Browns either need a cheap QB room solution, or a way to clear some cap space elsewhere. With Ward gone, they take option 2 for a cheaper impact EDGE rusher & trade away Garrett. (Or don't, why not have some fun)

  3. TRADE - Tennessee Titans - Travis Hunter, CB/WR Colorado State. New Titans GM Borganzi said he would not pass on a generational player, lucky for Titans fans they managed to get him and a bounty of extra picks.

  4. New England Patriots - Tetairoa McMillan, WR Arizona State. NE desperately needs help along the offensive line, but they also desperately need weapons for Drake Maye. They can't pass up on the Red Zone monster here w/ some early 2nd round offensive line help available

  5. Jacksonville Jaguars - Will Campbell, OT LSU. I was tempted to take Graham here, but here me out: The most valuable piece of a franchise is QB, and they need to protect TL better. Campbell is an immediate starter anywhere on this Jags offensive line & there is lots of interior DL talent in this draft

  6. Las Vegas Raiders - Shedeur Sanders, QB Colorado State. Finally LV settles in with thei QB of the future. Pretty cut & dry pick if he is available at 6

  7. TRADE - Tampa Bay Buccaneers - Mike Green, EDGE Marshal. huge shake up! After seeing themselves miss out on edge rushers in about 100,000 mock drafts over the past couple of years, the Buccs decide to move in front of their division rivals who also need an EDGE to secure the best one on the board.

  8. Carolina Panthers - James Pearce Jr, EDGE Tennessee. With TB snagging Mike Green right out from under Carolina, they continue the run on EDGE and take the next guy off the board. They've lacked a real EDGE presence since letting Burns go.

  9. New Orleans Saints - Mason Graham, DL Michigan. With an incredible value pick here, Graham falls to NO who desperately needed some help on the interior.

  10. Chicago Bears - Ashton Jeanty, RB Boise State. With Dallas looming two picks away, Chicago puts some other needs to the side to get an ELITE weapon to make Caleb William's life much easier. Jeanty immediately kicks this offense into a different gear. Now they just need somebody to block

  11. San Francisco 49ers - Armand Membou, OT Missouri. The 49ers draft a versatile offensive lineman that can help them immediately at guard opposite Puni and potentially eventually at tackle for the aging Trent Williams

  12. Dallas Cowboys - Josh Simmons, OT Ohio State. The Cowboys need help across the offense right now, but the board gives them a nice oppurtunity to solidify the offensive line.

  13. Miami Dolphins - Kenneth Grant, DL Michigan. Miami's defense really felt the heat after losing all-pro DT Christian Wilkins to the Raiders. They grab the nations best NT to shore up against some potent running attacks in their conference.

  14. Indianapolis Colts - Malaki Starks, S Georgia. I see Tyler Warren here a lot as the Colts really need a TE, hear me out tho: Chris Ballard loves game-changing athletic freaks and the Colts could still use quite a bit of help on the back end. They opt for the elite DB and snag a TE on day 2

  15. Atlanta Falcons - Luthor Burden III, WR Missouri. The Falcons need an EDGE worse then maybe anyone, but the temptation to pair the YAC heavy Burden up with Drake London in this Falcons offense now headed by Michael Penix is too good to pass up. Who needs pressure on the QB anyway.

  16. Arizona Cardinals - Kelvin Banks Jr, OT Texas. The Cardinals need the most across their defensive line, but the depth of DT in this draft makes it hard to pass up on a player with the versatility and athleticism of Banks in this spot, especially with lineman flying off the board

  17. Cincinnati Bengals - Derick Harmon, DL Oregon. I bounced back and forth between Nolan and Harmon for this selection, but I ultimately landed on Harmon. Cincinnati needs his pass rush upside in the worst way.

  18. Seattle Seahawks - Shemar Stewart, EDGE Texas A&M. It feels like every year Seattle desperately needs interior offensive line help, and every year they go elsewhere in round 1. I opted to continue the tradition with a high-upside pick at EDGE.

  19. TRADE New York Jets - Emeka Egbuka, WR Ohio State. It was tempting to snag Nolan here as well: ultimately though the Jets have NOTHING at WR behind Garrett Wilson with Lazard and Adams set to leave this offseason. Egbuka's skill set makes him a highly reliable WR 2 that can help the 'Run First' approach we are expecting new OC Tanner Engstrand to take in 2025

  20. Denver Broncos - Tyler Warren, TE Penn State. Easy fit here. Denver needs a TE & the best one on the board fell into their lap. Sean Payton gets a weapon & a blocker in 1 selection

  21. Pittsburgh Steelers - Matthew Golden, WR Texas. This may be may favorite fit in round 1. The Steelers are most likely to roll back out with Russel Wilson next year. They grab the top speedster WR in the draft to pluck some of Russ's fabled deep balls. Golden is the perfect WR to pair opposite Picks, as they have opposite skill sets

  22. Los Angelos Chargers - Colston Loveland, TE Michigan. The earth rumbles as the deep belly laugh of Jim Harbaugh cascades through the AFC. He has been reuinted with his favorite receiving wepon from his Michigan days

  23. Green Bay Packers - Mykel Williams, EDGE Georgia. GB loves their SEC defenders. Mykel gives the Packers a nice upside pick late in the 1st round. In a division with great RBs, Mykel is a good fit for their current defense

  24. Minnesota Vikings - Will Johnson, CB Michigan. Johnson falls a little bit due to some concerns with his top speed, and Minnesota is glad to steal him towards the bottom of round 1

  25. Houston Texans - Grey Zabel, OT North Dakota State. One of the biggest risers of the early pre-draft process, Grey Zabel looks like he will be an Elite interior OL with some outside T flexibility in a pinch. (I keep hearing Alijah Vera Tucker from the NYJ) - Zabel could start on day 1 in four of the Texans offensive line slots

  26. Los Angelos Rams - Josh Connerly Jr, OT Oregon. The Rams are hard to predict because they're only made one 1st round selection since Jared Goff. In this scenario, they decide keeping old man Stafford upright is the highest priority.

  27. Baltimore Ravens - Tyler Booker, G Alabama. Booker is a name that seems to always slip into round 1, which is unsurprising with how many teams need OL help. The Ravens choose to prioritize keeping Henry and Lamar being a brick wall.

  28. Detroit Lions - Nic Scourton, EDGE Texas A&M. The Lions season began turning when Aidan Hutchinson got hurt. They need extra juice on the EDGE whether Hutch is back to 100% or not. An easy selection here

  29. Washington Commanders - Jahdae Barron, CB Texas. The Commanders need some more help along their secondary, and a phenominal CB falls into their lap at 29

  30. Buffalo Bills - Walter Nolan, DL Ole Miss. Finally Walter Nolan goes off the board. The Bills couldn't stop a nosebleed up the middle in 2024, so they take advantage of the excess DT talent in this draft and take one who excels against the run.

  31. KC Chiefs - Darius Alexander, DL Toledo. The Chiefs need offensive line help pretty badly, but picking 31 puts you at the mercy of the board. The Chiefs solidify the interior of the D-line for 2025, and take advantage of a talent heavy DL draft to maybe find their Chris Jones replacement before his production dips.

  32. Philadelphia Eagles - Jalon Walker, LB Georgia. I wanted to really drive home the 'scripted' feel to this draft. Howie Roseman sits on his hands as one of the most controversial high-ceiling prospects (at a position of need) falls to Howie at 32. Did I mention he's from Georgia?
